NOT splith, spliff or spillith...

Spilth was started a few years ago by me (Jeffer) and my sister (Meg) to give us a way to get our words and pictures out there. We found the word in an incredible big old red illustrated dictionary that Meg had in her flat. We picked the word by opening the book at a random page and pointing with our eyes shut. I'd love to say it was the first choice but im pretty sure it wasn't. It seemed like the best way to describe what we wanted Spilth to be - an outpouring of ourselves into the world, whether it wants it or not.

Spilth has been through a few incarnations, but eventually blogspot seemed the most logical choice and Meg decided she wanted to part ways with her spillage and left it all over to me. I toyed with starting something new but I love the name so much and it's got such a rad history with Meg and I, it seemed like abandoning a wee pet or something.

And so here we are! I'm currently studying illustration at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in Dundee. I love music and knitting and monkeys and the colour green and glitter and adventures.

I love to hear from people, please don't hesitate to comment or email me - spilthillustration@gmail.com.
